About Scott Vogelsberg

Scott received his bachelor of arts in English from North Carolina State University in 1995, with a concentration in writing and editing and a minor in political science. He also took postgraduate courses in writing for the electronic media and broadcast journalism at NC State, then earned a certification in Digital Media & Marketing from Duke University in 2017.

Over the last 20 years, Scott has embarked on a career that has allowed him to build expertise across a wide variety of communications disciplines. He pursued broadcast news at WRAL-TV, learned public relations at the Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce and gained experience in copyediting and technical writing at the Instrument Society of America.

He also entered the sports journalism field at The Wolfpacker, before developing familiarity with search-engine optimization and Web writing with MarketSmart Interactive. Scott then pursued marketing, communications and public relations in the life sciences with MicroMass and Datatrial. Most recently, he has led external content creation for RTI International, a research organization based in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina.

In a freelance capacity, Scott has conducted interviews and created feature stories, columns and articles for sports media outlets such as Pack Pride, ACC Area Sports Journal, Atlanta Journal-Constitution and the Laurinburg Exchange. He has also served as on-air talent for WTSB-1090, Triangle Sports Talk, hosting four different shows for this local sports radio station. Scott has developed and carried out print and online marketing and public relations initiatives for Cisco Systems, Tekelec, SunCom Wireless, ACN Digital, Bold Interactive, National Fire & Rescue Magazine, The Creative Group, Centice Corporation, Vision Point Marketing, Steve Sypher Designs and Mason Dixons.
